[[ this is what i want to say. ]]

well, Singapore Idol ended yesterday.. i must say.. ive been catching it almost every single wk.. more than the last season's.. anw, wad im blogging today, is in MY personal opinion and i guess ive gOt some freedom to talk what i feel rite?? to the extent that i dont directly hurt other people or the security of the community.. just trying to state some facts first.. just in case.. so in short, u dont have to get over sensitive with this entry, cus its my thoughts.. also i must stress that im not a fan of either person, even though i might sound like i totally am a fan, im not.. id rather go crazy over michael jackson or chaka khan.. haha

k, so, this time round i tink there are more "scandals" and unfair treatments compared to the last one..
firstly i tink would definitely be the Joakim Gomez thing.. i mean that poor guy has been hinted on so many times on the show that i think he's immune to comments..ok, personally, i feel in singapore, the idol competitions are more based on looks rather than talent.. if u compare the singapore idol and the american idol, a number of their winners dont realli score an A in the looks department.. but however, americans still voted based on talents.. but here, even if u no talent u still can go thru.. so, in a way, we cannot blame joakim that he kept on continuing in the competition.. i tink its rather pitiful that he has to take all that crap from the judges who seem to forget that its more of a popularity contest.. and if he's fans wants more of him, he cant do nothing..
and adding fuel to the flame are the 2 hosts ( u know who.. ) who every single week will say "Singapore, this is a SINGING competition.. make sure you vote WISELY.. someone who can represent singapore to the world.."
i hear this phrase every single wk until joakim was voted out.. HALO?.. ok, i know u dont feel he deserve to still be in, but then can at least give that guy abit of pride or dignity?.. anyways, its up to the people to vote.. so, even if u were to repeat that line 200 times, that would not change the fact that his die hard fans are gonna vote for him.. as i said, its a popularity contest.. so what if he beat out mathilda or whoever who got out bfore him.. he didnt ask for permanent placement in the show.. the fans did..

ok, now going on to the top 2 finalist.. i know that since the beginning the judges have somewhat rooted for jon leong to win.. y? prolly cus he's a suave, charming crooner perhaps? or is there other motives? they keep saying marketable.. hmm, i would like to see the progress of jon leong after the show and see how much they actually meant their words and support this marketable artiste? dont get me wrong, im not denying he isnt a gd singer.. in fact, the moment i heard him sing i was realli impressed with the michael buble voice.. and he can carry rock and jazz tunes definitely.. but i tink its the soul, rnb and pop tunes that are not his forte.. as they say he tends to mumble when he's singing a fast number.. so, where does marketability come in? i thought in this TEEN era, the pop tunes are a sensation along with rnb and hip hop.. so, if he cant carry a tune, how will he sell? u know, i just wonder sometimes..

on the other hand, hady mirza.. i tink he's vocally more versatile and capable.. probably his character is not an A+ ( im just assuming ).. but then vocally he is rather gd.. both are compatible in their own ways.. but one is just better than the other by a margin..
but the how come the judges dont feel that way? how come the judges are more inclined towards jon winning the competition? isit because of the previous winners and the obvious winning tradition?
ok, let's see the uncanny similarity between this season's and last.. the top 2 were 2 males and one female.. one darker skinned guy and another lighter skinned guy ( see how im not specifically saying any race, religion or colour ) .. one season, the female was the power house, but singapore chose the rocker who cant sing to be in the top 2.. but they made a better choice in another season, choosing the rite idols.. one top 2 contestant is the rocker while the other is more hip hop and rnb..one's range is not that great while the other has better range and versatility..
so i can safely say its very similar..

im not trying to say im biased on who was supposed to win.. or that im biased towards jon.. im just stating facts.. im proud that a fellow abang (brother in malay) won it yet again, but im not saying jon shouldnt win.. im just saying y hady couldnt have won..?

u must be asking y the hell am i blabbering about singapore idol..its just that i was reading today's edition of Newpaper about ken's comments on the 2 idols.. he said gd comments on jon, and somewhat of a not-so-happy comment for the winner.. shouldnt it be the other way round?.. i mean, hady did win the thing rite?? even if he were to win by 10 or 5 0r 1 votes it wont matter cus he'd still win.. so then he said that hady not enuff experience.. in what way is hady less experienced than jon?
they are both around the same age.. 20+.. both has their own bands and perform on a frequent basis.. so, how isit that one is less experience? one of them graduated from vocal skul isit??
it just doesnt make sense what ken was talking la..
unlike a few of our local judges, simon cowell has actually managed overly well known groups like Westlife and others, who have sold millions of albums.. so wadever he say would actually make sense? and randy has worked with the best like mariah carey, etc.. and paula is a league on her own..
i guess what im saying is that, even though we want to support local music as much, we still need to face up to reality that there are other countries who's singers are much much better than ours..

i just wonder whether it was realli that experience was the basis of his comments or he was unhappy about the winner.. hmm, i tink the winner this season and last is similar in more ways than one.. genre? race? style? so what could be the reason? ( ill let u do the thinking )

well, who knows what is the reason behind it.. but i guess, if he didnt agree with the people that's his problem.. hady won 70% of the 1 million votes..and that's a huge margin..400,000 to be precise.. so, did singapore make a right choice? only time could tell.. but in that instance last nite, it was clear that singapore did choose talent over charm and looks.. looks is not the only factor to succeed in the music industry.. its only an additional factor that could make u from a 5 to a 7...
people didnt have to choose hady.. but they did, knowing that he is better in a way.. so they shouldnt have said condescending comments on hady.. well, as they say, all is fair in love and war.. and i guess in competitions too..

in my opinion, all in all.. hady did a better job with his songs.. his voice was more toned.. and i felt his rendition of chaka khan's Through the Fire was great.. seeing that he is a male.. and chaka khan is a great female singer..still, jon did his best.. and it showed..

anw, k, im tired of typing.. ive said all i wanted to say.. i hope they wont waste their time making another POPULARITY, oopS! Talent Contest like singapore idol.. cus we can predict what will happen..

*peace out*
