this is my avenue

THIS POST IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORIES OF MY ECE 07/08 PROM NIGHT!!

my prom literally started the day bfore saturday, i had to go and ask the tailor to help me make the arm band, i had to rush after the paper to buy the cloth and stuff.. and the whole night, while i was hanging with jamal and kumar, and also while at home, was busy attempting to sequine my glove!

was quite irritating cus the sequins refuse to stick! so, when i eventually got the hang of it, it was quite easy to put on, but it still didnt stick.. haha

on the day itself, was even more busy.. was really excited, and i only managed 4 hrs of slp the night bfore.. woke up early, had breakfast, watched tv, and left home at ard 12ish for town...

i had rushed to town to buy my bling from 77th street! cus i saw once at JP branch.. so for sure town had to have it..

after getting it.. i went home, went to the tailor's and got my armband, initially it looked quite wide, but i think it was nice at the end of the day..

also on the way hm, had to go aunt's hse take my other aunt's camera! cus i was "kiasu" and greedy! i brought not 1, but 2 cameras along! hahah

got home, i tried on the whole outfit once, with the shirt and blazer and glove and armband and stuff.. to see if everything complements each other.. and they did, so i was satisfied.. haha

had to iron my stuff.. then i left home for syaz's place.. was going over to ask her to put on some make up for me.. (note that make up as in powder and concealer !! NOT lipstick kinda thing! )

so chilled there after the session, waited for zul&friend.. zul picked amri and me up at commonwealth mrt station bus stop.. and we went to the hotel..

the moment we reached the hotel and stepped out of the cab, i was like scurrying to wear my blazer and sunglasses and armband and glove la! haha.. so funny.. didnt wear it bfore hand cus itd be hot! and i was darn nervous, cus i didnt know what ppl will think! haha

darn i was happy to be dressing up like my idol! hahaha

went inside to be greeted by shocked friends of mine! hahaha..

i dont know if its a gd shocked or a bad.. but i hope its the latter.. it didnt take long for us to start camwhoring.. haha

and i took pics with my friends, that's one of the biggest joys in life! everlasting memories!

i was pumped and excited to go inside, cus i dont know if i would be cool or a fool! haha.. then we all went inside together.. and started to take more pics.. i think i kinda got ppl's attention, i mean, i was wearing sunglasses INDOORS! haha.. and i was wearing a glove, in one hand, not two.. haha

in any case, i didnt care, continued to take pics.. then me and sug went to take pic at this professional photographers' booth.. and i took some lone shots.. in the end i only got the lone shot, didnt get the ones i took with sug.. wtf.. but nvm, my potrait pic, looked real cool! haa

then we proceeded to go in.. and sat down at the table.. was sitting at table 3, bfore the events actually started, we took more pics of cus..

then when it finally started, the first thing the guy did was divide the left side and the right side of the ballroom.. and for ppl in each side to choose the leader.. haha

and THANKS to my FRIENDS, whom, somehow unanimously pointed at me, i was voted team leader.. -_-

was asked to go on stage, and just stood there like goondoos.. haha

i felt so fucking embarrassed la.. haha i have public speaking problem, though its getting better, slowly..

then got down, throughout the event, they would randomly and surprisingly play a certain song, and to earn points, we'd have to stand up and wave our napkins the fastest! haha.. that was really funny..

they had some old guy singing, an old david blain magician wannabe, and a couple of crappy, off timing dancers.. hahaha apart from that, everything else was wonderful! hahaha..

the desserts were awesome!! lovely and sinfully delicious! but the main course, was a tad disappointing, the muslim food, was food that i could have bought from the market and brought there.. and the serving, wow, was it small.. hahahaha

BUT apart, from that, everything else was awesome!

ive always kept in mind, that i paid for prom, not for the food or entertainment, i wasnt asking for much, i was just asking for the experience of prom, the memories, and the memories with the friends whose there, that made the prom ever so special..

then there were the games, the name the movie-by listening to the music game, i got the first one right, and took one for the home team! haha

and there was the lucky draw, which i wasnt too lucky cus i didnt win anything..hehe..

then there was the nomination for prom king & queen.. haha

i was kinda surprised the ppl nominated me.. haha.. and i didnt know that only girls nominated the guys, vice versa..

the so called "finalists" were called up on the stage.. there was me, amri and another guy, i think was from QSS too!

then on the girl's side, there was dee, siyan, and the prom queen herself.. haha

the emcee asked us to strut our stuff down the stage.. catwalk to be precised..

the girls went first, the looked really not bad at all.. haha!..

all the while, i was standing there thinking what the hell am i gonna do! was i gonna do a normal catwalk, or embarrass myself?!haha

i decided on embarrassing myself! haha

it was all impromptu la.. suddenly call me name, cus amri went to the toilet and after he came back with vengence, it was my turn..

so, i walked a little, posed, and walked to the left.. then out of no where, i started to dance to the music! hahaha.. fcking funny man.. dance to the right side, posed..

walked to the middle, and spinned around, ala MJ! haha.. im weakened by music, ill dance anywhere, anytime, any place! when there's gd music that'd be me dancing.. haha

then they asked the girls to vote by sticking stickers, and surprisingly i got quite a number.. mayb they're all my friends? haha who knows.. but thanks..

actually, ive always dreamed about how it feels like, esp when u watch those american shows, and they announce the prom king and stuff.. haha

and honestly, it feels gd! to get to wear the sash and stuff.. hahah..ok, took pics.. and received our prizes, $50 Zara voucher! woots! can buy new shirt le! haha

after that, took pics, sat down, and played a lil game..

pass ard the table number.. and i was damn lucky/unlucky, got it when the music stops! haha.. must go on the floor again.. but luckily did nothing..

the event ended, the music started, but no one danced.. everyone left and moved to the stage to take pics!.. so, we, being the ppl we are.. immediately went over the stage and took loads of pics! all group pics with my frens, from year 1-3! haha. was nice..

really took alot of pics la.. i even took a video! i told myself to record at least something, cus vids are different in a way that u can see what u were saying and doing at that point of time in ur life..

i realy had fun, from the moment i stepped out of that cab, till i was ouside taking the last few pics with my frens..

we headed to zouk after that.. haha.. it was for fun la.. nv go zouk bfore also! haha.. somemore everyone else was going.. there was quite alot of ppl..

there we met the BME girls sitting on the sofa, drinking.. haah.. and they were nice enuff to have talked to us, or me.. haha..

after that head to the dance floor.. we were there ard 11 i think.. and we were there for at least 4 hrs! hahaa..

sooo tiring after that.. it was trance/techno, so i didnt know what i was doing.. ahaha.. so just anyhow whack la.. dance only! haha.. did alot of slides and michael moves.. haahah..

the rest let loose and dance also! haha.. dennis, curt, sug, gavin, wei xuan and ment were all letting loose for one night!

dennis was the best la.. i think he was on the dance floor the longest! his feet like can tahan like that.. mayb he light la.. if i light i also dance whole night.. my feet alot of strain ok! haha.. and he's a real gd dancer himself..

amri and fifi showed that mats (oops, malays i mean) still can dance when they showed off their trance dance! hahaha.. real cool, but i cant do! too heavy! hahaha..

i saw jamal busting a couple of moves himself.. he was on the dance floor like 20 mins, and sitting at the table for 1 hr kinda thing.. -__-

kept on dancing.. took some pics in zouk.. was fun la.. real fun.. haha..

my first time like going out with the ppl! in zouk somemore! hahaha.. lol!..

had a real good time.. and if not for my foot killing me, id suggest we stay longer! haha..

we moved to the prata shop nearby ard 340am i think, and had our boost of energy..

we shook hands and said gdbye to the rest and left..i hate saying gdbyes, its the hardest thing to do...

me, sug, amri and jamal left, walked to a bus stop near outram ard there..

sat at the bus stop till ard 5am.. then they walked to outram to catch first train home.. i took the cab home cus i couldnt walk at all.. and jamal headed for bedok...

honestly, i didnt feel much sadness throughout the whole thing.. i felt excited, happy and joy, but not much sadness..

i only was kinda touched and was a lil almost teary when they were playing a slideshow with our pics on it..

and showing project groups, langkawi trips, and stuff.. and they even put the pic of me that i sent in and put it last..haha. that was nice.. =)

all in all, the ECE 07/08 Prom Night was a glamorous and memorable affair!
i would like to thank all my friends who agreed to go, after much persuasion, but nevertheless went for the prom night..
and you even took time out to dress urselves up.. i really appreciate that you were part of the experience and memory! i wish every single one of u all the best in life!
and DO add me in frenster, msn or fb!! haha
